Footbridge, Crissier

The bridge crosses the route de Crissier and links the future neighbourhoods of Lentillères-Oassis and Esparcette with the future bus rapid transit network.

The elegant unitary design features a slight and slender curve. Its continuous structure is made from a two-span box girder with variable inertia. The main span, measuring 40 metres, allows the RC 179 road to be crossed without intermediate supports, while the second span, measuring 24 metres, creates an anchor for the structure, supporting the deck without limiting the usable width. The structure's architectural concept provides an elegant solution to the structure's contextual constraints: plot shapes, clearance for vertical circulation and road traffic, possible rights of way and support conditions, accessibility, convenience for pedestrians, cyclists and people with reduced mobility, cohabitation, fluidity, protection, construction, maintenance, functionality, simplicity and economy.
